International Students
Our close-knit community includes students from more than 40 countries. With a constant flow of visiting artists and teachers from all over the world, diversity and cultural exchange is hard-wired into the experience of all students here.
A vibrant and welcoming place to study
We’ll welcome you into our community, and help you to start your career and influence the world of music, theatre, television, film, theatre and related professions.
With fewer than 1,000 students, you can expect a high level of individual attention. Our small class sizes and one-to-one teaching with some of the world's most inspirational artists will provide you with a bespoke education that is best suited to your needs.
English language requirements
If your first language is not English, you will need to demonstrate that your English
language ability meets our minimum
requirements.
Please refer to our English language requirements page for details of
accepted English language tests and required
scores.
Scholarships
We offer a range of scholarships to
support you financially while you study.
Once you have been offered a place, you will be sent an application form
and invited to apply for a scholarship.
Our admissions office will send out the scholarship application form directly to you, with details of any relevant deadlines.
All scholarships are awarded for the duration of study, unless otherwise stated, and are subject to satisfactory progression and engagement with the course.
Accommodation
You are guaranteed an ensuite bedroom in a shared flat at the halls of residence, a fully managed and secure site, just ten minutes’ walk from the College.
Each flat has a high-quality kitchen and living areas and comes with free high-speed internet and wifi access.
You will have your own bedroom and bathroom. Initiatives like the Find-a-Friend scheme helps students to be placed in flats alongside people they will get on well with.
We also put you in contact with other students before you leave home so you will know a few people before you even get on the plane.
Please visit our accommodation pages for the latest information and housing fees.
How to apply
International students follow the same
application process as UK applicants.
Entry to the programme of study is
determined by audition or interview. Some
auditions and interviews may be held virtually.
'The main reason I chose to study at RWCMD is because it provides lots of opportunities to take part in productions in the College before we get into the industry. Practising and progressing with the help and support of RWCMD instructors has not only improved my professional skills, but also makes me feel more confident about facing the working world.
I also really like Cardiff, it is such a warm and kind city. Life here is not too fast or too stressful, and I find it a very inspirational place.'Jessica JiInternational student, MA Design for Performance
