Carne Foyer

The Carne Foyer is the College’s magnificent entrance space which is open to everyone to enjoy. It is filled with lots of natural light and overlooks Bute Park one of the largest and most beautiful urban parks in the UK.

About the foyer

Our stunning, three-storey, contemporary glass-walled atrium and open-air terrace overlooks the Grade I-listed Bute Park and Cardiff Castle.

As one of our great performance and event spaces, it can accommodate up to 500 people.

Every term it hosts hundreds of free student-led events including the ever-popular weekly jazz club Amser Jazz, Classical Café and Cabaret at the College which all attract audiences from far and wide.

Overview

The College's stunning landmark building is located in the heart of Cardiff, overlooking beautiful urban parkland and just a 5-minute stroll from the city centre and mere 15 minutes from student halls.

Dora Stoutzker Hall

Combining elegant contemporary architecture with state-of- the-art acoustics, the magnificent Dora Stoutzker Hall has a capacity of 350 seats and has been host to many concerts and high-profile events.

Richard Burton Theatre

The Richard Burton Theatre seats 180 people and boasts state-of-the-art facilities. Its contemporary design ensures the closest possible relationship between audience and performers.

Anthony Hopkins Centre

The historic Anthony Hopkins Centre with its stunning open-air courtyard and tree-lined avenue houses key College facilities including the Corus and Weston studios, S4C studio theatre, several music practice rooms and a professional recording studio.

Linbury Gallery

Our public gallery space hosts a changing programme of exhibitions and some of the College’s most eagerly anticipated events including the student-led Wearable Art and Balance design exhibitions.

Bute Theatre

A flexible ‘black box’ performance space fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for up to 160 people.

The Caird

The Caird Studio is an intimate studio space with flexible seating for up to 50 people ideal for a more immersive performance experience.

Café Bar

Situated in our stunning Carne Foyer, with wonderful views over Bute Park, our café bar is a great place to soak up the College’s creative atmosphere - whether you are meeting friends, enjoying our free foyer music concerts or taking in a show.

The Old Library

We’re currently transforming Cardiff’s much-loved Old Library building. In the short term, we will use it for rehearsals, while we prepare the building for the future. In the longer term, we will run a vibrant programme of public performances and events across music and drama.

Llanishen Studios

A fully fitted workshop and teaching space with facilities for timber and metal working, and dedicated areas for sculpting and painting.
