'My teachers at the Royal Welsh College took the qualities I discovered naturally in myself and brought them out in a way that was more polished and stronger. I was completely self-taught before I started classical guitar, and although I had a lot that was unique about me in a good way, it needed shaping and moulding. The whole philosophy of the College is to become your own musician, and what really inspires me is that idea of being something that's very individual and highly original.
It’s so valuable having teachers like Helen, John and Zoran. They're all so different but they work together in a complimentary way. They really help to create more than just
a really good guitarist but bring out an individual artistic identity and a creativity.
The College is an environment that gives you the real time and space you need to grow as an artist, to develop your own unique voice. That's something no other conservatoire has in quite the same way.'
