André Batalha Soares

André Batalha Soares is a baritone from Portugal where he started vocal studies in 2009.

He graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2022 joining the David Seligman Opera School for his MA in Advanced Opera Performance.

Recent engagements include Schaunard in La Bohéme (Cardiff Opera) and Vater in Humperdinck’s Hansel und Gretel (RWCMD).

André is supported by the Leverhulme Trust Scholarship fund and was the recipient of the Philippa & David Seligman Award for Excellence.
