Welsh soprano Carys Davies is currently in her final year of her BMus Undergraduate Degree as a Soprano at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, studying under Suzanne Murphy.
Carys made her professional operatic debut, touring as Second Young One in Welsh National Opera’s The Magic Flute (2023), written and directed by Daisy Evans and conducted by Paul Daniel. Carys was a member of Welsh National Opera’s Young Company for Cherry Town, Moscow (2022), directed by Daisy Evans and conducted by Alice Farnham.
At The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama Carys has performed in several staged and semi-staged productions, including Second Witch in Dido and Aeneas, and chorus member for The Choice of Hercules and Hänsel und Gretel, and in the opera chorus for the RWCMD 2022 Opera Gala, with the orchestra of Welsh National Opera conducted by Carlo Rizzi. Recent engagements include the opera chorus for La Bella dormente nel bosco (RWCMD), again under the baton of Carlo Rizzi.
In September 2024 Carys is excited to begin her Masters in Performance as a Soprano at The Royal College of Music, London, as a scholar.
