Jonathan earned a BA degree in violin performance from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. After completing his first degree, Jonathan received two major scholarships to further his studies under the tutelage of Professor Dona Lee Croft.
Jonathan has played with some of the UK’s most prestigious orchestras, including the BBC NOW, International Musical Orchestra, London Soloists. He is passionate about contemporary music and has performed with numerous chamber ensembles, collaborating with renowned composers such as Michael Nyman, Graham Fitkin and Alun Hoddinott.
An accomplished conductor, Jonathan has led numerous ensembles and the Berkshire Youth Symphony Orchestra. Under his directorship, the orchestra has been awarded recognition prize from NMFY and performed at prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, and multiple locations across Europe. In 2016, he took the orchestra on a successful tour to Beijing, Tianjin, and Shanghai.
Jonathan’s career has included teaching and examining roles at several prominent independent schools, including Eton College, and at conservatoires including RWCMD, RBS and Trinity Laban.
Jonathan was recently appointed to the board of trustees of the Dorothy Croft Trust, which helps support talented students in financial need gain access to lessons, masterclasses, and auditions.
