Special collections and archives
Our archives and special collections are an invaluable resource for students, performers, researchers, and members of the public interested in the history of music and theatre in Wales and beyond.
They include the College’s own institutional archives, archives and manuscripts of several composers (including Mervyn Burtch, Alun Hoddinott, Graham Whetham, Mansel Thomas, and David Harries), some manuscripts and archives of the Drama Association of Wales), the Glamorgan Youth Orchestra archive, and the Foyle Opera Rara Collection.
Access arrangements
To consult archives and special collections, please arrange an appointment by contacting archives@rwcmd.ac.uk.
Some materials may be restricted due to their condition, sensitivity, or confidentiality, and access to these materials may require additional permissions. RWCMD is committed to providing access to its archives to support research and learning, while also ensuring the preservation and protection of the materials for future generations.
