James Mildred

James is 2nd horn with Welsh National Opera, touring the UK regularly, alongside recent foreign tours to Finland, Dubai, Oman and Hong Kong. He has been teaching at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama since 2015.

After reading Economics at the University of Birmingham, James studied French Horn at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. He was 3rd Horn with Scottish Ballet for several years and performed regularly with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Scottish Opera.

He has also worked with many of the other major British orchestras, including the BBC Philharmonic, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Philharmonia and City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
