NYGE Fellowship Ensemble: New Music for Guitar

The Fellowship is the figurehead ensemble for the National Youth Guitar Ensemble and brings together an exceptional, new generation of guitarists from across the UK aged 18-28. This concert champions new music for guitar ensemble with two world-premiere commissions - David John Roche’s The Hammer of Acceptance / The Outrage of Repetition which has resonances of the rock and metal music of his South Wales childhood, and Natalie Roe’s Mirrored which fuses together guitar and modular synthesiser, in a live collaboration with the composer herself. The programme will also include movements from Marc Mellits’ Ex Machina, arranged for guitar by Helen Sanderson.  

David John Roche’s work has been generously supported by Ty Cerdd, and Natalie Roe’s work by Guitar Circus.
