Aidan O’Rourke & Sean Shibe: Lùban

Scottish fiddler Aidan O’Rourke (one third of award-winning folk band LAU) joins guitarist Sean Shibe in an evening mixing classical and folk, formal and rustic.

Two Scottish musicians who are both embedded in tradition; Sean Shibe carrying the torch for classical music in its broadest sense and Aidan O’Rourke deeply-rooted in Scottish folk culture. While many in the classical world are trying to reverse-engineer the blurring of boundaries, this collaboration goes directly to the source, bringing ancient lute and fiddle manuscripts back to life through a refreshing new sound.
